The Malahat Review: 2017 Open Season Awards
One of Canada's top literary journals, The Malahat Review is seeking entries for its 2017 Open Season Awards. The contest is open to authors in Canada, America, and overseas and features three separate categories: poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction. Each category awards a $1500 prize for the winner, and you can enter multiple works; however, the entry fees are as follows:
$35 CAD for Canadians
$40 USD for Americans
$45 USD for entries from Mexico and outside of the Americas
For each additional entry, the cost is $15 CAD. However, poetry is structured differently, with the first three poems counting as the first entry, the fourth through sixth poems counting as a second, seventh through ninth counting as a third, and so forth.
All who enter receive a one year subscription to the journal, and all winners will be interviewed for the March edition of The Malahat Review. Visit their website for full contest details and requirements.
Don't want to compete but would like to get involved? They're always looking for volunteers. Check out what's available and apply today!
